Why do I believe in God?

I have never been able to believe things just because I am told to or because I am supposed to "have faith". I believe things because I can see how they work. On the contrary, or in spite of this, I believe in God. The reason I believe in God is because of person revelatory experience. Pretty convincing, live changing, sensory events. I have had two distinct contacts or awarenesses of God. I understand that this might be a sign of a serious brain injury or illness, but since it was only once when I was 10 and once when I was 15, I'm going to say it's not a chronic or degenerative condition. One might ask if I was indoctrinated into a theistic religion, and perhaps I was. If so, it didn't stick, I hold to no standard religion and have never really done so. I do often attend religious celebrations, but they range across most religions. I have studied Buddhism and Hinduism as much as I have studied the Lutheranism of my childhood.
